Kate Coughlin- Kate teaches yoga from the heart in the Iyengar and vinyasa tradition. Experience precision, detailed instruction, and individual attention with the joy of movement and self-discovery. Kate is the creator of Stanford University's Yoga program and a graduate of Erich Schiffmann's teacher's program. She has studied extensively with Donald Moyer in Berkeley. Kate is an Experience Registered 500 hour Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500).

 

Shawna Scizak -Shawna graduated from Brentwood Yoga Center's Advanced Yoga Studies Program in 2010 and became certified at the 200 and 500 hour level with the Yoga Alliance. She also took her pursuit of yoga half way around the world when she accompanied Jim and Kate on their spectacular retreat to India. As a student first and a teacher second, she hopes to use her knowledge and enthusiasm to bring the life changing benefits of yoga to others.

Join Kate and Shauna for a Spring Yoga and Meditation Retreat. Spring is a time for coming forth with new ideas. Particularly around health and physical well-being. During your retreat you will have ample time to rest, relax, and devote your thoughts to discovering what you truly want for your future health and physical well-being. You will practice Yoga, Meditation, and Journal to get you into a space where you can better access these desires for yourself. You will come away with a wellness plan suited just for you! 

 

The Land of Medicine Buddha (LOMB) is an environmentally conscious meditation and retreat center located on 108 acres of coastal foothills. The center stands adjacent to 10,000 acres of redwood forest preserved by the State of California just south of Santa Cruz. LOMB is an active Buddhist community.

 

During this retreat, we will explore our bodies and minds at a deeper level. Remember what it is like when you first discover or learn something? You are intrigued and wowed and excited. After a while it may become boring or stagnant. The same thing can happen in your yoga practice. We will delve deeper into the practice through questions and self-inquiry and investigating our bodies and minds, so that we can come away with a change, with a feeling of YES, this is why I do yoga. We embrace the opportunity to feel re-inspired and excited about this wonderful practice of yoga!
